My job is..... drinking coffee and playing a guitar or...???

I have decided to take this blog in a another direction. I want to describe for you, what I do in my job, why my job is so important, try to find out why the community criticize my kind of job, and I want you to know out there, that I do a lot more than just drinking coffee and playing the guitar!

To a start I want to describe, what I do:-) Ja, you maybe think now, omg that is going to be so boring, why should you read what I have to tell about my job and don´t you already know what I do??? I don´t really think you do, so here it comes.

I work with the youngest people in our community, I take care of people who are from 8 months until they are 2 years and 10 months old. Think of how much a human being need to learn in these years; how to walk, speak, eat, drink, play, socialize with other people and to code the social-codes we have in this world.

To understand it, maybe then you need to imagine yourself as a child at 1 years old been left alone in a building with people you don´t know, and you need to be there until your mum or dad is picking your up 6 or 8 hours later. How would that be for you? How would you like the adults to be? What would you need?
You will feel left alone. Why are you there and your mum or dad is not? You will be sad in the beginning, but then you will get used to it. At time goes you will get used to mum saying goodbye, and you have to be there with the other children and adults.
You would like the adults to be funny, to be near you, to give you comfort and to learn you how to play with the children, so you can get some friends.
You would need someone to go to, when you are sad. You would need someone to go to when you need help to getting in contact with the other children. You would need an adult, that you feel safe with, and an adult that you know are there, when you need it.

Ja, my job is many things. I do a lot more than just changing a diaper, to put the children asleep, to give them food and drinking coffee of course. I play with the children so they can lear from me how to play and how to socialize with other children. I am sitting on the floor reading a book, building sandcastles, singing songs and sometimes I am just sitting there, so the children can come to me, when they need a hug or need to tell me something. The most important thing is that I am there, and that the children know I am there for them. And sometimes it can looks like I am not doing anything, but I am, I AM THERE!

Remember their mum and dad left them there, and if I am not there for them, then who are????

That was the first of hopefully many more blogs about my work and why THIS kind of job is so important!

Stay tuned....:-)
